  6. ArcTool 8.0 [AT800] (GDSoft, reg. fee: $30) is an archive manager and shell
  7. for ZIP, ARJ, ARC, PAK, and ZOO. It also recognizes EXE archives. ArcTool
  8. can handle up to five layers of archives inside of other archives. It
  9. allows you to view, print, extract, and convert archives to any format;
  10. view ANSI files; associate any program with any file extension and edit the
  11. FILE_ID.DIZ inside of archives. Requires 512K memory.

  13. DIZDIR 1.8a [DIZDIR18] (GDSoft, reg. fee: $15) creates an ASCII file
  14. listing of all ZIP, ARJ, LZH, ARC, and SFX files in a directory on your
  15. system and uses the FILE_ID.DIZ, or FILE.DES included in the archive as a
  16. description for the file. It will list files files that do not have
  17. FILE_ID.DIZ, or only files that do. It can develop one-liner listings. It
  18. also handles listings for Wildcat and PCBoard.

  20. Sqwez 1.0 [SQWEZ] (JM Software, ASP; reg. fee: $) is a multi-file
  21. compression package. It outputs a self-expanding program.

  27. archive shell. NEW: added several environment variables, updated support

  29. LZH, ARC, PAK, ZOO, SQZ, and HYP files, and more.

  32. make it easier to work with archive files. NEW: added color configuration
  33. of message line and status lines, minor enhancements and bug fixes.

  35. (U1-01) DIZEdit 4.9g [DIZED49G] (GDSoft, reg. fee: $15) allows you to edit
  36. the description files found in archives NEW: ability to convert archives to
  37. a default format, repack archives to minimize size, recognize most
  38. ARJ/ZIP/LZH SFX files, strip or add archive comments for ARJ and ZIP,
  39. automatic virus scan using popular scan programs, update archive date with
  40. today/newest/oldest file date, add BBS files to the archive such as ADS
  41. etc, and included an INI file which can be edited interactively to save
  42. setup information.

  53. ThunderByte Anti-Virus Utilities 6.12 [TBAVX612] (Dick Geheniau, reg. fee:
  54. $?) is an addition to the ThunderByte Anti-Virus program. It contains the
  55. processor optimized versions of the resident TBAV utilities which take
  56. advantage of processor dependant features and are therefore slightly faster
  57. and smaller than the generic versions.

  63. scanner. NEW: cosmetic changes of screen output during MBR scan, new

  66. (U1-02) Clean-Up 1.13 [CLEANUP] (McAfee Associates, Inc., reg. fee: $35)
  67. fixes virus problems. NEW: identification of all viruses detected by the
  68. current version of VirusScan, removers for the Arusiek and Tamper viruses.

  70. (U1-02) ViruScan 9.24/1.13 [SCAN] (McAfee Associates, Inc., reg. fee: $25)
  71. scans diskettes or entire systems and identifies any pre-existing PC virus
  72. infection. NEW: adds detection of 13 new viruses and 15 variants, fixed
  73. problem with false report of DiskWasher virus on PCs with Phoenix ROM-BIOS.

  75. (U1-02) ThunderByte Anti-Virus 6.12 [TBAV612] (Dick Geheniau, reg. fee:
  76. $99) is a toolkit designed to protect against computer viruses and to
  77. recover from them. NEW: a description of all viruses in the signature file,
  78. their behavior, what kind of damage they perform, how to clean them, etc.
  79. uses low-level routines to locate a virus on an unreadable disk,
  80. unregistered version of TbScan now supports just 1 user defined signature,
  81. support to immunize the secondary hard disk, added signatures.

  83. (U1-02) TranScan 4.11 [TSCN411] (Craig E. Dunstan, ASP; reg. fee: $30) is a
  84. compressed file virus scanner and converter. NEW: corrected problem with
  85. QEMM 7+ compatibility, RIP graphics support for Wildcat BBSs, detects SDN
  86. files.

  88. (U1-02) VShield 5.58V113 [VSHIELD] (McAfee Associates, reg. fee: $25) scans
  89. programs as they are run for virus signatures and validation codes added by
  90. ViruScan. NEW: detection of viruses added in Version 113 of ViruScan,
  91. options to check the boot sector of floppy disks whenever a diskette is
  92. accessed, and disable the boot sector checking of floppy disks.

  97. OneADay 1.1 [1ADAY11] (Gray Software Development, ASP; reg. fee: $17)
  98. allows you to execute as many as 10 commands from your AUTOEXEC.BAT file
  99. only once a day or on specified days.

  101. AtBat 1.01 [ATBAT101] (Softwest, ASP; reg. fee: $15) creates and executes
  102. batch files which consist of a specified list of files, each associated
  103. with the same DOS command or other text. The files may be selected by size,
  104. file dates, attributes, or contents.

  106. CompDate 1.04 [COMPDATE] (Radiodetection Corp., reg. fee: $0) is a program
  107. intended for use within batch files which will compare file dates. It could
  108. be used to allow a batch process to determine whether or not to execute a
  109. file export procedure. Pascal source code is included.

  111. Fr. John's Shareware Batch File Tutorials [FJTUTOR] (John Robinson, reg.
  112. fee: $33-45) consists of 10 lessons and 50 odd examples of writing batch
  113. files, from simple to complex. These tutorials will guide you in writing
  114. any sort of batch file and any sort of information screen in a combination
  115. of colors or in a simple batch file format. Requires 720K disk space.

  117. Wistar Daily Reminder 6.2 [WDREMIND] (Wilstar Software, reg. fee: $12) is
  118. used in the autoexec.bat file to remind you of important events that are
  119. happening on today's date.

  125. date and time arithmetic in batch files. NEW: additional string-handling

  127. output formats "ddmmccyy" and "ddmmyy".

  129. (U1-03) Internal Commands 2.2 [IC] (Geoff Friesen, reg. fee: $15) is an 18k
  130. TSR that adds many additional commands to DOS, most of which are mainly of
  131. use in batch files.

  133. (U1-03) Menu-Man 1.3 [MENU_130] (MicroMetric, ASP; reg. fee: $25) displays
  134. menus in batch files.

  139. CHKFree 1.01 [CHKFREE] (N.A.M. Enterprises, reg. fee: $5) will check all
  140. drives, including network drives, for a specified amount of disk space.

  142. DrvSpc 2.0 [DRVSPC] (Wayne E. Birch, reg. fee: $6) is a disk drive space
  143. and resource reporting utility.

  145. DTR 4.0 [DTR40] (Chris Buijs, reg. fee: $0) copies a disk to files and vice
  146. versa. It also formats disks.
  147.  
  148. Floppy Drive Clean 1.0 [FDCLEAN] (Kevin H. Murphy, reg. fee: $9) is
  149. designed for use with diskette drive cleaning programs. It will keep a
  150. maintenance log of each cleaning, along with dates and any additional comments.
  151.  
  152. FMat 6.5 [FMAT65] (Chris Buijs, reg. fee: $0) is a does-it-all diskette
  153. formatter. It allows maxi-formats that, for example, format a 1.2MB
  154. diskette as a 720K and much more. Requires DOS 4.0+.

  156. FMT [FMT] (Fred Howard, reg. fee: $5) formats any disk in any drive in
  157. which it fits. A couple of keystrokes will format any disk with a normal
  158. format or a with a quicker format. Requires DOS 5+.
  159.  
  160. Mac-ette 3.01u [MACETTE3] (Acute Systems, reg. fee: $34) will read, write,
  161. format and duplicate Macintosh HFS format 1.4 Meg diskettes on a PC
  162. equipped with a 3.5 inch high density diskette drive.

  164. QCopy - UF 4.0 [QCOPY40] (Ulrich Feldmueller, ASP; reg. fee: $22) is a disk
  165. copying and format utility which will allow you to copy and format any size
  166. disk. Fragmented files on the source disk will be written in one block on
  167. the target disk.

  169. WDAT_IDE 3.3 [WDAT_IDE] (Western Digital, reg. fee: $0) scans the media and
  170. remaps any grown defects on a Western Digital drive. It also provides
  171. performance data such as seek times and data access ties.
